Step into the past wearing this exquisite 18ct Gold Georgian miniature portrait ring! This beauty was made circa 1780, and has lasted centuries-long in impeccable condition. The centre of this ring depicts a lady with a colourful bow in her hair and black velvet choker around her neck, framed by 18ct Gold and adorned by peppery rose-cut Diamonds set in Silver.

An original Georgian ring like this has so much character, and has a distinctive shape typical to the mid-Georgian period, where octagonal shapes took precedence over the usual round or oval face. We can only imagine the story behind this piece, we'd love to know who she was and who she was so special to; this one-of-a-kind Georgian Gold ring gets us incredibly excited, and we can't wait for someone to love her as much as we do!

MEASUREMENTS: Ring face is 20mm long x 13.5mm wide.
Portrait section is 12.5mm long x 7mm wide.
Ring band is 2mm wide at the back.
Weight: 4.1g.

MATERIALS: Tests as 18ct Gold, Silver Diamond settings, Rose-Cut Diamonds.

HALLMARKS: Since we have dated this piece as being made before 1950, a hallmark is not required in order for it to be sold in line with UK hallmarking legislation.

PACKAGING: Your ring will be shipped in a luxury velvet Lillicoco presentation box.

Condition

VERY GOOD TO EXCELLENT. This 18ct Gold Georgian miniature portrait ring is in superb condition. The ring has lasted over two and a half centuries in impeccable condition. The rose-cut Diamonds are all original and it doesn't appear as though there have been any replacements. The portrait has served the lady very well, and the pane above it has only a few surface marks. The ring band is robust, and the piece sits incredibly comfortably against the skin. There are some signs that the ring has been repaired, towards the back of the settings, but this has allowed the piece to live so long and well. This lovely and highly collectible piece of authentic Geogiran jewellery deserves to be shown off!
