Item Details

ERA: Victorian (1837-1901).

MEASUREMENTS: Necklace is 17" or 43cm long.
Necklace is extendable to 19" or 48cm long.
Chain is 1mm wide.
Moonstones graduate from 7mm long x 5.5mm wide to 11.5mm long x 7.5mm wide, weighing approx. 18.75ct combined.
Weight: 13g

MATERIALS: Tests as solid 9ct Gold settings around each Moonstone, 18ct Gold chain, antique Ceylon blue-flash Moonstones (18.75ct).

HALLMARKS: Since we have dated this piece as being made before 1950, a hallmark is not required in order for it to be sold in line with UK hallmarking legislation.

PACKAGING: Your order will be gift wrapped free of charge in a Lillicoco cardboard box made from recycled materials, tied with a ribbon.

Condition

VERY GOOD. This antique 9ct Gold Moonstone necklace is in very good condition! The Moonstones are set securely and possess a lovely adularescence. There is ever so slight surface wear on a couple of the Moonstones, but nothing untoward. The 9ct Gold settings do have some darkening and subtle wear in the grooves but overall the Gold has a rich buttery tone throughout. The central Moonstone has some excess Gold at the bottom, likely from where a drop was ones attaches, but this cannot be seen when worn. On the back, two of the Moonstones are connected by replacement jump-ring, but this cannot be seen from the front. The 18ct Gold chain is in tip-top condition and even offers an extender for those of you who like a longer length. A Victorian treasure waiting to become your newest addition!
